Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms had a spectacular lake view over Grant Park, but they were dated and sparse, not quite up to the Hilton name. The service was incredibly friendly and helpful, although there were some unhelpful and rude instances. The location was prime, right across from Grant Park on Michigan Ave, offering a convenient spot for various activities. The dining experience was just okay, with some room for improvement. Overall, a mixed experience with some highlights and areas needing attention.
I was truly impressed by the charm of the hotel, as it combined the old building's character with modern amenities. The rooms were spacious, with 4 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms, perfect for my granddaughter and me. The living area was large and the old bathroom added a unique touch, although some windows were cracked. The service was professional and accommodating, ideal for a business conference or a customized stay. The location was excellent, right across from a beautiful park and within a short walk to shops and restaurants. The dining experience was good but felt a bit stingy for the price, offering fresh and seasonal products. The hotel facilities were well-maintained and provided a comfortable stay overall.
The hotel is located on a higher floor with disappointing tunnel-like views but has comfortable rooms with a fridge, though lacking complimentary water or a coffee machine. Service is polite but with misinformation issues. The fabulous location is excellent for outdoor activities and sightseeing. The dining experience, though decent, may be overpriced. Facilities are basic.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of good and not so great experiences. The rooms were decent but felt a little dark and cold when I first arrived, somewhat dated and not quite up to the Hilton standard. However, they were satisfactory for a one-night stay, although not as impressive as the Sheraton. On the bright side, the service was exceptional, with incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff who made my stay truly superb. The location was a definite plus, offering a blend of old and new with easy access to Grant Park and the lake. Despite some additional fees for services like late check-out and internet, the hotel's maintenance was good. The dining experience ranged from amazing to just okay, a little on the pricier side, but the concierge service was brilliant. Overall, it was a decent stay but with room for improvement.
The hotel had rooms that were very clean but faced another building, lacking extra amenities and with a dark odor. On the bright side, the rooms were less likely to be affected by nearby train noise and had cool features like electronic shades. The service was not helpful in addressing issues promptly but offered additional services like car hire and tours. The location was superb, offering great photo opportunities and proximity to Chicago attractions. The dining experience, while a bit pricey and not a full buffet, was outstanding in taste. The facilities were well-maintained and functional.
